SCA:Olawa factory is powered by nature

The Personal Care plant in Oława, Poland, is the first Personal Care production facility to manufacture products with renewable energy only.

The environmental improvements in Personal Care are based on a life cycle approach that looks at what we source, how we produce and what we finally deliver to our consumer and customers. Clean production is possible through an efficient use of resources and the continuous reduction of energy and waste. As part of this we continuously replace fossil fuel in our factories with green energy.

The Personal Care plant in Oława, Poland, is now the first Personal Care production facility to manufacture products with renewable energy only. All electricity consumed in the Oława plant now comes from a green resources: The Suwałki Wind Park, which is located in the windy North-East of Poland. Senior Purchaser Marta Sokalska underlines: “A certificate confirms that the energy we consume comes from 100% renewable resources.”

“Not only does green electricity add to our environmental targets, it is also cost-effective and beneficial for the business”, explains Oława plant manager Marcel van den Hurk. “We are convinced that initiatives like ours add value for our customers and consumers and demonstrate that c/o life more than a buzz word, it is the way we work.”
